Algarve Wedding Ceremonies – a few different options

Civil Ceremonies with one of our local registrars

This is a unique service which I am able to offer you as I am totally bi-lingual.  I am therefore able to work alongside the registrar as I can translate everything. Making your ceremony personal by creating your own vows, exchange rings and even asking one of your guests to read a poem.  There is the option to have a celebrant alongside to perform a blessing after the legalities have been concluded.

A registrar can attend most venues but there are a few exceptions. For example they cannot go out on a boat.  A registrar will be able to carry out a ceremony on the beach, however it must be authorised and held away from sunbathers.

If you decide to get legally married in Portugal, I can handle the preparation and paperwork on your behalf. The requirements are different for each person and change according to your country of origin. Once all documentation has been prepared the couple will need to be present to hand it into the local registry office. Email me and I will let you know which documents you need to provide and the cost.

A Priest for your ceremony?

We can arrange ceremonies with the Catholic priest in the local parish church in the area of your chosen venue.  A Catholic priest will not perform ceremonies outside of the church.

I also work with an Anglican Priest who can perform your ceremony either in a beautiful 300 year old chapel for example or at the venue of your choice.

A formal or informal Wedding Service conducted by a celebrant?

If you choose to legally marry in your country of origin and then have the ceremony in the Algarve, your guests will experience a unique ceremony.  With so many locations to choose from in the Algarve, your ceremony could be on a beach, at a private villa, at a hotel or restaurant.

Each of the celebrants I use make your ceremony very personal and work closely with each couple in the lead up to the wedding to make the ceremony their own. Personalising the words and adding different elements to the ceremony, for example a Sand Ceremony is always a nice addition when on a beach.
